Subject: Cool Drum Story! Date: Fri, 19 Jul 2002 17:08:48 -0500 From: Nehemiah Park Roger, What can I say, us drummers are a different breed! I like the informal honesty of your website; it's somewhat lacking these days. I'm in the middle of building my first acoustic set. I'll give you a brief synopsis of my drum history. (I'm 19) Ever since I can remember (age 5) I have been banging on stuff. My dad had an old remo electronic drum set which I banged on until the sad day (age 12) when he gave it away because we "had no room for it". Hence, the beginning of percussion in band through middle school, which was great fun. High school I was not allowed to be in band because of our large family and conflicting schedules. That still didn't stop me from joining the youth church band. I'd been drumming on anything and everything in between these two points! Now, I'm interning at my church learning music ministry, and drumming my heart out! Just bought an acoustic red 5-pc Rodgers set for $160 with hardware! Cheap set, but still sounds great comparatively. Bidding on a Gibraltar rack on Ebay, and plan to build from here! Have any extra cymbals? :-) It's always good to share with other drummers - cool website. I was amazed at the many interests. Keep it up and keep it for Him! Nehemiah End
