Step 5 should read "Use nippers to cut off pin 5 from SIP resistor RN1".
If you accidently cut off pin 6 of the SIP as the figure says, it's ok since that pin is used by the light sensor and it needs to be cut off too.

The Picture shows soldering the wire to Pin 7 of the expansion connector. It should be Pin 10 like the text. The text is right.
