My robots name is Notorious B.O.T.. It's base is in the shape of an octagon. Its main function is for robotic sumo competitions. It pushes and shoves the other opponent(s) out of a 6' in diameter ring. It runs on 12 (car battery) which is off-board. It as rated at 20A but now is at 2A because of competition rules! The parts used are a couple of BIG Lego tires, 2 car fan motors, some sheet metal, plywood, good ol' duct tape, pipe clamps. I had quite a few problems while building this robot. The first one was trying not to get the robot over the size limit. It has to be 1 foot x 1 foot x 1 foot. It's a little small, but I am plannig on building a bigger robot for the next season. The next problem I had was going within the weight limit. It has to be 10lbs or less. So far, it is 8.5lbs. From there, I just has problemswith wiring and getting the wiring right aswell as the resistors. The approximate time to build was 2.5 months. The cost was a measley 50$! It also has a ramp at the front (not shown in pics) which will be pulled down by an 18V motor I picked up at Radio Shack. My website is: http://www.notoriousbot.com You will be able to find pictures of my robot there. Just click on "DIARY". Thanks, TOMMY Email: wilgabeast@hotmail.com
